February 27: Kitchen updates: New Lights, New Stove, Faucet

New Kitchen Lights!

Added recessed LED lighting above the sink, in the dining area, and in the pantry area.  The florescent light box was updated and replaced with recessed LED lighting.

A  recessed florescent light fixture and a small ceiling fan in the dining area.

New Stove!

The red oven door had broken glass so the stainless door will be used until a new red door is delivered.

February 7: Kitchen Cabinet Refacing, Day 3: Cabinets are Done!

Cabinet bases are resurfaced, new self-closing cabinet doors, glass cabinet fronts, new drawers, and cabinet knobs are installed.

January 17, 2021: Family Room Wallpaper Removal

 The family room has 2 different wallpapers.  One is an easy-to-remove brown vinyl paper on 3 walls.  The other is an accent wall with a metallic peacock feather print that is very difficult to remove.  When we removed the first strip of peacock paper we damaged the surface of the wall.  We decided to come up with a new technique and continue another day.

January 17, 2021: Cabinet Priming and Wallpaper Removal in Kitchen

 Today more kitchen cabinets were primed for painting.  The new doors on these cabinets will be white and have glass cutouts.

We also started to remove the kitchen wallpaper. This ended up being much more difficult than we anticipated.  The vinyl layer came off easily but the paper layer was left behind.

January 16, 2021 Countertop and Cabinet Modifications

 Official modifications were made today!  The cabinets and cooktop were removed and and some existing countertop was cut out to allow room for my new range and vent hood to be installed.
